The main application for this closure is fiber distribution in PON networks with optical splitters, but it can also be used in a P2P system as a cross connection distribution point. The closure is designed for outdoor, underground installation in manholes,
above ground installation on poles or installations inside pedestals. The closure can handle air-blown fibers in microducts, micro cables and traditional cables. The closure is equipped with a holder for up to three splitter modules.

The NCD 507 500 is used as an underground distribution point in fiber access networks. The closure can be configured either as a Fiber Access Terminal (FAT) or Fiber Distribution Hub (FDH). When configured as a FAT, the internal patch panel with
up to 96 positions for LC connectors is used to allow for flexible cross connect. When adding splitter modules, the closure can be used as a full-fledged FDH. The closure is designed for air-blown fibers in microducts, drop cables, micro cables and
traditional fiber optic cables.

The closure consists of an outer polymer dome, a base plate an internal bracket equipped with splice trays, microduct and cable holders. In addition, the closure is equipped with a panel for up to 96 LC and a holder for up to three splitter modules of
type Microducts or drop cables (up to Ø5mm) are securely arranged in the microduct holders. Water blocking microduct sealing or micro cable sealing is required for installation (optional accessories).
The closure is delivered with 8 fiber organizers. Each organizer handles up to 24 single splice sleeves. The base plate has one oval port for mid-span (uncut) cables and six round ports for cables or microduct assemblies. The optional micro cable entrance kits allows for up to 8 micro cables to be inserted in the oval port and up to 4 micro cables in each round port. The total capacity when using 5 mm microducts in the round ports is 96.
